CMEC Signs Contract for Maldives National Stadium Project
At the Maldives National Media Center on November 25, CMEC and the Maldivian Government signed a framework agreement on cooperative construction of the Maldivian Government. Despite the adverse impact of Covid-19 since the beginning of this year, the Maldives Department of CMEC has been working hard without relaxing its operation. This agreement marks a new breakthrough made by CMEC in the development of the Maldives market.
Signing of the agreement was witnessed by principal officials of the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and officials of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia. At the signing ceremony, Zhang Lizhong, Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, and Mohomed Aslam, Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure of Maldives, delivered speeches respectively, expressing their ardent expectations for bilateral cooperation on the National Stadium Project.
The representative of CMEC in Maldives and the representative of the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure of Maldives signed the agreement on behalf of CMEC and the Maldivian government respectively.
The Maldives National Stadium project is a large-scale project put forward by the Maldivian government for hosting the 11th Indian Ocean Island Games. The stadium will be built on the first-phase Hulumary Island. When completed, it will be a comprehensive sports facility meeting international standards to serve local residents and become a new landmark building in Maldives.
The active and fruitful work of CMEC has won unanimous praise from the leaders of Maldivian government departments and the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia. Both parties will earnestly implement the framework agreement, and strive to break ground as soon as possible.
