GM Fang Yanshui Meets with Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy
On July 19, Fang Yanshui, general manager of China Machinery Engineering Group Corporation (CMEC Group), met with Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, at the site of Kostolac-B power plant project. Both sides exchanged views and reached agreement on key tasks before the handover of the project.
Mr. Fang Yanshui briefed about the project progress in recent months and the completion of all ongoing construction tasks. He said that SINOMACH would continue to mobilise resources and overcome all difficulties to complete the project’s defect-eliminating and round-off tasks and make preparations for the commissioning, reliability test and performance test, in order to ensure the official operation of generating units in this year’s heating season. He hoped to get the strong support and collaboration from the Serbian government.
Ms. Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic recognized the project’s current progress and thanked SINOMACH for its high priority to the project and the project team’s dedication to the construction. She indicated that the project, the most modern and safest one of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), could meet the most modern standard of environmental protection, holding significant importance for Serbia’s energy safety and security.
GM Fang and Minister Djedovic Handanovic discussed the trial operation and performance test in detail, reaching agreement. The two sides would work together for the round-off work and achieve the common goal of conducting the commissioning and reliability test in August and operating units before the heating period this year. Following the meeting, the two sides carried out field research at the project site.
Previously, Fang also met with Dušan Žifković, the owner’s president, and Nenad Jokić, director of the Fire Service of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, to exchange views on the project’s commissioning and fire acceptance respectively.
Tong Zigang, deputy general manager of CMEC Group, also participated in the above activities.
